Bombay achieving the Best Embellishment Award at Chrysalis ’96 to F.I.T , New York . It was here in New York she specialized in draping, fashion illustration and merchandising. She nurtured her interest in eveningwear and created the beautiful Millennium Crystal Bride, which was the theme for the final semester show in New York. Interwoven with these years of training at fashion schools, were the hands on training at Rekha’s Boutique in Bombay followed by an export house Neepa Fashions. Backed with these experiences Sana’a free lanced for bridal designs and supplied her works to boutiques in Bombay. From here she moved on to the production unit of Abu Jani – Sandeep Khosla where she worked rigorously for over two years, fine-tuning her skills. The millennium marked the beginning of………………. Clothing Art – the fashion studio Appreciation of the designer by Mr.Anthony Muto, renowned fashion critic and judge of the fashion show at F.I.T , New York. “I have been a critic and lecturer at F.I.T for over 30 years, worked with students in the design studio program. I have experienced many levels of creativity and the ability to realize the making and sewing of an original design. Sana’a Kayum has that rare combination of both creativity and the expertise to make her creation come to life. Her willingness to learn and bring her knowledge to her final school project was above the average student. Not only was her first design superb, she requested making a second garment as well. Both garments were beaded and on one garment she created a whole new way to bead on vinyl. I cannot help but admire and applaud her perseverance and the joyful spirit with which she took on the extra work and was able to complete the project, creatively constructed in the true couture tradition. I look forward to hearing about the flowering of her talents and the world fame I know she will receive ”. Sincerely, ANTHONY MUTO NEW YORK – DEC 18,1999. Style Clothing Art gives a contemporary look to most traditional arts of embellishment. Finely and intricately worked pieces give a fresher look to age-old techniques like bandhani, chikan, zardoze, gotta work etc. New mediums for embellishing these traditional techniques enhance originality. Unusual color contrasts and two-tone effects created by using contrasting linings are another strong feature. Different dyeing effects on natural fabrics combined with delicate embellishments give the product an oriental look. Further specializing in clothing to suit different customs for example the eveningwear abaya for the Middle East woman include international recognition of the brand. Western style clothing include draped blouses, gowns, skirts, pants, shirts etc in innovative cuts and finishes, sampled every season following international forecast trends. Accessories to match different moods of clothing in various categories help providing a complete look. With a variety of brides to dress from different part of the world and coordinating different wardrobes gives an extensive opportunity to showcase globally. Clothing made of highest quality fabric and embellishments created by products like Swarovski, Hiroshima etc result in international standards.
