Malini holds a Master Degree in Management Studies specializing in Finance and was a nationally ranked swimmer.
The label Malaga was born three years ago.
Malini’s dream was to create handbags, footwear, belts and accessories for the contemporary woman – to showcase the wealth of art and craft in the country and yet reflect international trends. Although her aim is to find her way to the fashion hotspots around the world, she never neglects the Indian market.
Today, Malaga products are exported to many countries. Malini has earned great acclaim at a number of international shows in Paris, Milan, London, Dubai etc.
Malini Agarwalla launched the label Malaga in 2004. Malini, who lives in Bombay started her company as a manufacturer of quality handbags to fulfill the demanding and continuously evolving taste of the contemporary woman. Bringing her artistic and design skills to the fore, combining élan, panache, and different styles, she was determined to make her bags affordable reflective not only of the rich cultural heritage of her native India, but also of all the exotic visuals she encountered in her travels all over the world.
Malaga specializes in carefully handcrafted bags, belts, footwear and fashion jewellery of a wide range and design for women with both traditional and contemporary tastes. Rich embellishments of jeweled pieces, swarovski crystals, embroidery, beadwork and zardosi (gold threadwork) are interwoven with use of materials such as fibre, leather and various fabrics (silk, brocade, jute, linen, denim, velvet, cotton etc.) to create a stunning array of formal and casual line of accessories for women.
Malini Agarwalla, with her line, now launches a collection of custom handmade, metaphysical, inspirational and spiritual jeweled handbags.
These painstakingly hand crafted jewellery handbags are each one of a kind. Each bag is numbered and catalogued by us.
Malaga bags are exported to Europe, UK, the Far East, USA, Japan, the Mid East and Africa. Malaga has held several shows in Paris, Milan, Dubai and London and met with a great response.
