Female model auditions in Kolkata saw a resurgence of simplicity and candour as young faces get ready to face the spotlight
New Delhi, September 11, 2019: The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) held its first-ever female model auditions in Kolkata today. The venue brimming with aspirants was Hotel Lalit, Dalhousie Square, which saw an overwhelming response.
This year the focus was a mix of new faces along with an exuberant personality minus any size-ism or professional barometers, who will shine at the Lotus Make-up India Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2020 in October, in the capital.
Six models were shortlisted by a panel of esteemed judges which included designers Kiran Uttam Ghosh, Komal Sood, Dev R Nil and supermodel Indrani Dasgupta. Some of the shortlisted models were also awarded by the team of Lotus Make-Up and Suthol.
“The fashion space is changing and so are the residents of this world and that’s why, this year, we are keeping up with the times by abandoning any shackles that judges beauty by the strict standards. The model auditions were like the flow of water, unchartered and free falling. We made sure it was inclusive and ‘everyone’ really got a chance to get noticed,” said Sunil Sethi, Chairman FDCI.
