The FDCI’s Inclusive #GetNoticed selects four new faces for the upcoming India Fashion Week
New Delhi, February 7, 2021: The Fashion Design Council of India, in keeping with the need to scout for diverse looks, initiated an inclusive #GetNoticed Model Hunt, in association with Wilderbee Talent Camp, by Lakshmi Rana. Four girls were chosen out of the 1,500 applications, which were open online for 10 days, for the upcoming India Fashion Week runway in March.
After judicious screening, 15 girls were shortlisted and invited to the FDCI office, from February 4-7, 2021, for an intense round of training by Lakshmi Rana. The four-day module covered myriad topics that would help newbies find feet in the competitive industry. These included ---- the business of modelling, ramp walk training, subtle art of posing, personal branding and effective communication.
The selection displayed various shades of diversity and was inclusive. These 15 girls represented various regions ranging from the Capital to Mumbai, Bhopal, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
The esteemed jury which made the final cut had stylist Edward Lalrempuia and designers Namrata Joshipura, Nitin Bal Chauhan, Rahul Khanna and Suneet Varma.
“We have been championing the need for inclusion of talent, and as a leading fashion body, the FDCI mirrors the distinctive times we live in. We were overwhelmed by the torrential pouring of applications from all over the country which showed keen interest in being part of the style sphere. Supermodel Lakshmi Rana brought with her years of expertise and a keen eye that chiselled these girls and made them ready for the spotlight. The four greenhorns are an epitome of confidence and perseverance, ideal for the runway making way for an appealing narrative,” said FDCI Chairman Sunil Sethi.
